The Great Canadian Glass Gathering started as a party of friends who wanted to hang out and torch together. We improvised benches out of washing machines, railroad ties, tires. We cooked on free-store, half-dead camp stoves. There was really no glass meet-ups on the West coast, let alone any gathering quite like this. The conditions were rural, the water was glacier, and the Gathering sparked. . .

Now, 11 years later, we’re happy to report: conditions are still rural. The glacier water still flows and we give out water bottles anyway. Our sanitation has grown to fit our size and we have sponsored waste amenities and bathing facilities on site. Our food is Food Safe and our music is live!

More than 50 beautiful camping areas have been cultivated into the mountainside, ready to fill for a few magical days, when we as a society gather to meet and trade ideas, materials, and whole lot of amazing glass.

One of the grandfathers of glass, if not the preeminent piper: Bob Snodgrass, the man, the legend, is with us this year. Like a music lesson from Jerry or something, AMAZING!

And thanks of course to Lewis Wilson for joining us again this year, and spreading the word south. Tip of the hat, Sir!

Welcome back, Marcel Braun with another Art Unit super millefiori all-night get-to-work Starship-in-every-garage demo. It’s astounding. You can help.

And to all the artists, farmers and curators, who fulfil the cups and bowls, bangers and nails. THANK YOU! You make this art functional. Your gifts make this party LIGHT UP!

All Event Passes are available at the Gathering front gate, will call.
All Membership documents for non-attendants, including judging materials and instructions, will be mailed on June 15 2019.
